BAT THE BALL DOWN. Im not saying what happend was right or anything like that, but coaches at every level from middle school to the pros tell players at the end of the game to bat the ball down and dont go for the INT. Im not hating on the DB for trying to make a play or anything like that, nor am I saying the call was right. But, to avoid all this chaos and conflict, all the DB had to do was bat the ball down, spike the shite out the ball straight down and the problem never even happens. Still, i cant believe this actually happened.

Based on the fact that he was in med air in between a sea of hands, id say that would be hard to do

Yea it would be hard to do, but it would of been easier to do that then go for the INT. And the game would of been over with a Packers win. So, you can argue that the DB lost the game for them by going for the pick. If you can catch the ball, you can bat it down. And yes I saw the Lions game. If that happens, well thats just bad luck. And i could be wrong, but wasnt that ball tipped from a LB that was running under the ball and tipped from underneath the ball, causing the ball to hang in the air for a second? Could be wrong because of the raw chaos that has been going on in the NFL since yesterday. But, Im talking about a power spike on the ball into the ground, not a tip from underneath the ball where the ball floats in the air. The DB for the packers was above the ball. Jusy saying, if he doesnt intercept it and knocks the ball on the ground, the game is over without a controversy.

With these refs.. Batting at the ball might confuse them with PI

he didn't have a chance to bat the ball with the way it came down

he did the right thing

you can argue a lot of things, doesn't make you less of a dumbass for doing so

bullshite. The ball came down in a sea of hands and he caught it against his chest. You can bat a ball down with your chest?

Go look at the replay. DB was above all other players, his hands were the first to touch it and he blatantly went for the INT. Im pretty sure it would of been easier to just bat it down then actually catch it. O and he didnt catch it with his chest. Had the ball in his hands then curled it to his chest. Im not saying it was the DBs fault or anything, because he obviously had the INT and these refs just blow. Just saying that if he knocks it down, none of this happens and they win.

Pure speculation. You cannot say this with 100% certainty. See the evidence above.

Player in position to bat it down was mugged by Tate just prior to the ball arriving. Dumbass.

Go look at the evidence in the Titans- Lions game. LB ran underneath the ball and stuck his hand up,hitting the ball with an upward motion causing the ball to hang in the air for a second. No coach teaches a player to tip ball up when batting it down. Now take a look at what happened tonight. DB was above all other players and above the ball and in perfect position to bat the shite out the ball. The packers got screwed, no doubt about it, but if the ball is incomplete none of this happens.

And Im not talking about Sam Shields that got molested by Tate, im talking about the DB that picked it, dumbass. And i know that batting it down sometimes backfires, but how many times has it actually backfired? A few random times, sure. But, with these refs, ill still take my chances batting it to the ground before i trust them making the right call.

i really disagree since Tate has a hand on the ball

One could argue that him going for the ball should have saved the game for them

So Tate would of made the greatest 1 handed catch ever? I agree that Tate did have 1 hand on the ball, but the DB had his hands on the ball before Tate did. And even if he has 1 hand on the ball, the DB bats it down from behind like he was, he wont catch it. You can argue that if the refs got the call right, that DB would of saved the game for them. And like you said, you can argue lots of things, but wont make you less of a dumbass. But, they didnt make the proper call and it screwed him. And thanks for posting that gif...

Look at how the DB goes for the catch. He really was in perfect position to knock it down. Nothing in front of him but green grass which would of resulted in an incompletion...
