I really liked this play call on Saturday, and I felt like is was a great way to open up the run game. Also, the quick pass limits the pass protection liabilities.

Looking back on the past few games it appears that the offense may have used it another time or two.

I was glad to see the adjustment at the line.

I was wanting to see more of this earlier..

Teams would stack the box vs us and have their corners playing 10 yards off the WR. If they are going to give you the play then take it.

Perfect set up after running that a few times and forcing the corner up is the stop and go.

IMO pass protection wouldn't be near as big of an issue if the WRs would eliminate the drops.

I like the stop n go, then stop and sometimes also go again.

Last year they ran a lot a one receiver sets and got good gains on play action. However the Auburn dline was doing a good job of getting penetration. But with the DB's playing back, the quick pass was sometimes as effective as a good running play.

All in all true, but gets predictable after the first two and then gets intercepted.

I thought about the D trying to bait the, but you only need to use it a few times to keep the secondary honest.

That's also when a stop and go could burn them.

i really liked this pass too...it forced the defender to make a quick and good play....hell i even like the quick pass in the flats to the WR's but just not 20 times a game......if we just mix the play calling up we would be so much better off.......hell it dont take a genius to figure out the one time shep lines up in the back field he will be running the jet sweep....add a few passes to the tight ends and we will be set

It would help a good bit, but not solve all o-line problems.

Then fake the audible and run to that side.

That must be one hell of a DE to be able to make that play and predict an audible.

Same D maneuver Saban used against U OK in 03 Sugar Bowl game for championship. Agree.

I love the Peyton Manning/Tom Brady slant pass audible. Wes Welker and Brandon Stokeley(sp?) have become millionaires because of it.

The quick slant is probably the easiest audible to read or make to make. You pretty much know when you getto the line of scrimmage if it is going to be open or not and if it's not you can pump and hit the next guy.
