The greatest win in Louisiana Tech history was a 24-16 loss to LSU in 2009

I am a diehard LSU that went to LATech for various personal reasons (long story). Anyway, as a freshmen, I went to my first Tech game and the crowd went nuts when the PA announcer said that LSU had lost that afternoon (1988). I got up and walked out, never to return to a Tech game. Frick Tech and Frick me for going there.

There is nothing worse (Bama fan included)than a La Tech fan when they are winning.

I have a similar story...

For various reasons I went as well, it didn't even register to me. I just couldn't imagine not being an LSU fan. I would go to Tech games in my LSU gear and sit in the student section
I had articles written about me because of their hate for me. One time they gave me grief for LSU losing and I started cheering for Boise St instead of Tech

Fact of the matter is, LSU played about as bad as they could play this Saturday while Auburn played about as good as they could and LSU was still able to pull out a win. Let's face it, it was LSU's first road game of the season in front of a hostile crowd and Auburn's first home SEC game at night during prime time. Auburn came out hyped and played great on defense, which was much different than the circumstances during ULM. Let's not forget that their first two losses were to top 25 teams on the road. This was a good lesson for our younger players on what to expect on the road at Florida in a couple weeks.

Real shocker right there. This isn't news there has always been a lot of delusion in that fan base.

nearly the same story 20 years later for me.

i don't regret my degree from there. good school.

but i only went to a handful of LATech football games. that stadium and crowd is an abomination to the game of football.

If you understand the mind of the Techster it is easy to get the logic

I went to graduate school at tech and there is one truth you must adopt to be a Techster- regardless of any evidence to the contrary we are better than ULM in everything sans Pharmacy.

Using that logic ULM tied Auburn - LSU beat Auburn by 2 - la tech is easily 5 tds better than Tech (see above) so easy to say Tech would beat LSU

And in the 80's and early 90's they (not pledges, general population) wore suits and ties to the game and would look at you like you were nuts if you cheered or did anything unbaptist like.

Mettenberger wouldn't even be a factor in a game like this. Running backs would simply above it down their throats...
