3-4-3 (diamond midfield)
the CDM i use is 6-6 so he does really well in stopping the clearance balls from the CPU

I wish EA would make some sort of online career mode like all other EA titles, that would be incredibly awesome! I know it's far more difficult to create since there are so many teams, leagues, tournies, etc but I think a company like EA could do it fairly easily

anytime i play a 4-3-3 team the computer just tries to boot it to the wings, and since the defenders are tucked in, it's effective. luckily they only do this in their "frick you i'm scoring" mode

this is not relevant at all but in real life, the 4-3-3 is so fricking bad ass. we played that in high school and it was fun as shite and we would just ping it all day. my favorite formation.

So like I said, I'm playing a few years with Barca before moving on to Mallorca. But I'm struggling to get the 4-3-3 to behave the way Barca plays.
I can't get Alves and Alba to properly advance offensively. And my CDM ALWAYS ends up being one of the highest attacking players, thus being useless in defense.
I want to create a custom formation that has a back line of CB-CDM-CB with the two fullbacks playing further up the pitch when attacking. No matter what I do the CDM plays too far up and I get destroyed on the counter.

Did you change the position tendencies or whatever when you edit the formation?

there is a 5-2-3 in the game with that in it i believe
if not, just do a custom 4-3-3 with 1 CDM and 2 CMs and then have the CDM never attack and always defend, and have the 2 FBs always attack and medium defend. pushing your "attack" speed in-game will automatically have FBs push, also

you just have to keep 70% possession like barca does

Thanks for the tips, I'll try them later.
But to that point, I was hoping to make it so that when I do lose possession my CDM would be deep enough to cut out the counter. With the way Barca press as soon as they lose possession, the counters rarely get passed the CB-CDM-CB back line. And I just can't seem to replicate that. Then again, I just suck.

Wow, don't feel so bad for my team's injuries any more. Just played Chelsea and their injury/suspension list was a nightmare for them:
Cahill (Red Card)
Benzema (Injured)
Fernando Torres (Injured)
Terry (Injured)
There was one other, forgot who it was.
That kinda sucks

Not sure what division I'm in right now, it's either 6 or 7 but I have hit an absolute cold streak. Had draws for about 4 games in a row, one of which prevented me from getting the trophy in my previous divison, and now I have lost 3-4 games in a row.
I have to wait to let the bad kids catch up so I can start winning more

I've held off on seasons for the moment, a. having too much fun on MM and b. I need more time to adjust my play style to be competitive online I think I'm 0-2-3 right now in the lowest division. Just can't seem to get going online for some reason
