I went there to watch the game on Saturday night. LSU Atlanta lists it as a viewing location. The game wasn't on TV here so I decided to go.

Arrived about 30 minutes before kickoff with a party of 5. No reservations (didn't know they took them).

The restaurant is smallish, with a nice bar and a small outdoor front patio. They don't have liquor but they have a nice beer and wine selection including 3 types of Abita on draft.

We were greeted at the door by Chef/Owner Marc Wegman. Shook hands and welcomed us in. One of the servers asked if we had reservations. I said no, and he said, "hmm, well no problem, we will get you in." And they did.

The service was great. The server knew the menu backward and forward including the specials.

We ordered a fried shrimp appetizer that was 6 shrimp wrapped in rice paper then battered and fried. Very good. The sauces that came with them were killer good.

2 of the party ordered the roast beef po boy. They very appropriately came with the extra stack of napkins.

One person had the fried shrimp platter with cole slaw and cajun chips. I loved the cole slaw and the shrimp was perfectly prepared.

Another person had the crawfish etoufee'.

I had a trio of red beans and rice, gumbo and jambalaya (I had to see how they did the basics). Each dish was perfect. (no tomatoes in the jambalaya- )

We ordered beignets, a homemade chile' pepper brownie and bread pudding for dessert. The beignets were as good as Louisiana (although too pricey!). The bread pudding was fantastic. The warm brownie was good but I would have liked to have a great sense of heat from the pepper.

I would really recommend this place. The chef is from New Orleans. His wife is a very involved as well.

Both Marc and Adele (his wife) thanked us for coming as we exited.

Nice review. Agree with boss. Unusual to find places elsewhere doing LA food correctly.

Indeed. I was really excited to find it.

The fact that it is locally owned by a husband and wife who are completely involved and caring and are also big Tiger fans was really great.

They are Saints fans too, but I don't much care about that!

It's down the street from me, I was waiting to hear some good reviews about it. I will have to drop by. I have really been craving a Shrimp Po-Boy.

Atlanta native here who loves cajun food. Thanks for the write up. I've passed it multiple times but never stopped, I think I will now.

Other cajun restaurants in ATL that I have been pleased with:

ITP
1)Front Page News: midtown and 5 points
2)Big Easy Grille: collier rd

OTP
1)Henrys: Acworth
2)Gumbeauxs: Douglasville

I would recommend all in this order: Gumbeauxs>Henrys>FPN>Big Easy
