I just saw on SportsCenter that Ginsberg subpoenaed (sp?) GW to testify on behalf of Vilma against Goodell a week ago!
Roger got GW to sign in an effort to convolute Ginsberg's case.

Da frick?

I'm beginning to think ole Rog had GW do this affidavit mainly to cover his own arse in his defamation suit.

Aside from any opinion of Williams and his credibility, Williams states in his affidavit that the Saints did not pay for illegal hits or plays that were deemed outside the rules. Does that eliminate "pay to injure?"

Wow, now that's F'd up! So if Vilmas guilty everyone else is innocent. RG can't have it both ways if he bases his punishments on GW affidavit.

Lt. Col. Frank Slade needs to take a FLAME-THROWER to this place.

I can picture Goodell whispering in Greg's ear like George Willis Jr.'s dad did in Scent of a Woman. Vilma is Charlie sitting next to the Lt. Col.

I love that speech! "But, not a snitch!"

Per 2 sources, some info in Cerullo's affidavit contradicted info in Williams' affidavit. Cerullo was fingered by Vilma as a whistleblower.

Cerullo has been seen as a less-than-credible source of info in this whole ordeal. That his affidavit was part of today raises questions.

graychef: no, williams indicated the possibility of a bounty offered by vilma, but he did not state that he saw, heard of, or knew of any transfer of money involving or related to a bounty or injury to a player.

basically it reads like williams is trying to do what he thinks (or knows) he must to get an eventual reinstatement to the league without throwing vilma or anyone else completely under the bus.

That's what I was thinking as well, although he's thrown Vilma under the bus plenty.

giving williams the benefit of the doubt, he's pushed vilma back into the path of the bus thinking he has a good chance to get out of the way

All of this hoopla reminds me of what my parents used to tell me, subtext: how they knew I was lying. "it is easier to to stick to a truthful story than make up a lie to cover another lie." Simple words were never more true in this instance. A tangled web indeed Roger, a tangled web indeed.

I think we're finally beginning to see the tip of the iceberg, ladies and gentlemen. As a season ticket holder, just seeing Goodell go down in flames and seeing the NFL getting it's arse handed to them is almost enough compensation. Then again, I will be signing on to the inevitable class action lawsuit.

Is this really that so hard to believe? I mean it's kinda crazy how many of you are just assuming GW is lying. Y'all remind me of Penn State fans.

That's a horrible comparison, simply based on the stakes and the allegations made.
If you haven't been following this case since the beginning like us, you don't know enough.

Get the frick out.

It's word against word. So WTF are you comparing this to Penn St.

There's no other evidence. None. Nothing. Nada. The best they got NOW.. is Greg Williams word against theirs..

So just because some dipshit signs an affidavit we should be naive enough to just take it for fact? Vilma and company have been so adamant denying this from day one.. and to this day nothing has proved other wise. Word against word.

Get real comparing this as if it's some sort of denial like Penn St fans.

Is a complete tool to try and compare this to Penn St.. and clearly not very bright.

Hey Draconian Sanctions.. why is Mike Floria (sp?) writing articles blasting the NFL and questioning the timing of GW as well.. He must be like Penn st fans as well.. or clearly a Saintard right?

GFY.

Vilma's tweets are MONEY!

NFL has 1 affidavit saying I did.. I have 9 saying I didn't

He's absolutely right. Pretty pathetic that this is now all the NFL is claiming on to..
