re: HPC Dino Rizzo resigned this morning? (Posted on 9/20/12 at 9:57 pm to jc11)
I have been attending Healing Place Church for about 3 years and am semi-involved with the church. I believe that the majority of the people at the church are wonderful and they have a bunch of opportunities to serve others. Yes there are some "religious superchristians" at the church that make you feel bad if you cannot attend as many activities as they do and can be annoying but for the most part the people there are good people. However after all of this has went down with Dino I am debating as to whether I want to attend the church anymore. It has nothing to do with Dino's affair and everything to do how the church handled the situation. Instead of the church being honest about what happened they try to hide things from the congregation. The silly thing is everyone is finding out what happened anyways from others so why not be honest. If the reason the church was not honest with us is because they do not want to lose members (and potential tithe money) then I do not want to have anything to do with this church anymore. The weirdest part about last sunday was the congregation was told to "not ask questions about the situation." It is ashame how HPC as of right now is seeming to show the community that its better to cover your arse than be honest. Hows that for Biblical principles? Hopefully I am wrong and don't know the whole situation about all of this.

I feel your concern. My wife and I felt drawn away from HPC a few months ago and we have since found another church that we feel absolutely at home with. Spiritually, I could tell the difference the minute I walked in the doors and I knew that was where our family needed to be. Based on that, I wouldn't leave off of feelings but rather prompting of the spirit. The easiest way to describe it for me was that I wasn't spiritually hungry going to HPC and now I can't wait to go our new church every week to get spiritually fed.

you should leave this place now. they are not a biblical church and sound more like a business. get away now and get into a biblical church wiht true accountability and leadership without a cult of personality pastor
