First, my criteria was:
1. Cans
2. Not available in LA
3. I wanted to drink/try
4. No pale ales or IPAs to gradually indoctrinate the partakers into different beers.

I picked:
1. Guinness (obviously in LA, but I like it)
2. Yuengling-16 oz cans (not that good, but it aint there)
3. Fat Tire Amber Ale (wasn't sure about LA
4. Long Day Lager by Red Hare Brewing (just came out)
5. Shift Pale Lager by New Belgium (not sure if in LA)

I also threw in some Ultras for those who would refuse conversion.

Tailgating definitely sucks in Atlanta.

I know. I know. I hit return from the subject line before I could enter my list.

Some great replies though.

New Belgium is not available in LA, just to clear that up.

I do it all the time.

Sounds like a pretty decent little selection. I probably would have went with a Nola brown over the Guinness though. It's surprisingly light.

not my ideal drinking plan for tailgating in the heat. I like those beers when sitting at home, relaxing, or at a beer bar. I'll stick to cheap beer for tailgates

Most are lagers. Guinness is good anytime.

If i was bringing beer from georgia to share with a bmc crowd id probably consider bringning:

Oskar Blues - Mama's Little Yella Pils (Pilsner)
Anderson Valley - Summer Solstice (American Pale Wheat Ale)
Anderson Valley - Boont Amber (American Amber/Red Ale)
21st Amendment - Hell or High Watermelon

Id prob also bring southern tier hop sun and/or dfh aprihop in limitted qtys.

Id bring one pale ale as well. Id drink it if no one else.

Good call on the yuegling and fat tire. Bmc's are gunna clean you out of those.

I forgot another of my criteria. Lower ABV. I tried to stay below 5%

I love Dale's Pale ale but at 6.5% I was a bit worried about it. I saw the Oskar Blues Pils, but it said Malt Liquor on the side of the can and I was in a hurry so I picked other stuff.

If they came in cans it would have been a Terrapin and Sweetwater festival.
