. . . and "Big Red" would stand up while the opposing team was warming up and belt out "TIGER BAIT!", "TIGER BAIT!", "TIGER BAIT!" A voice that resonates to this day.

The home games started at 7:30 at night and ESPN was not around to televise them.

I lived in South Stadium Room 241, near visiting team gate. Student activity fee was $35 of $110 for all fees and tuition. ID was good for all varsity sports. Cokes in TS cost $0.10!

... when you sold Coca Cola at the concession stand in glass bottles, each one iced down in a tub of ice and opened by hand with a bottle opener.

Freshmen males had their heads shaved.
And wore beanies!

You bought your date a corsage and it had LSU in script with a purple pipe cleaners.

Tailgating meant opening your trunk and having sandwiches from a picnic basket

Programs were .25

Games started at 8:00 pm

LSU fans didn't hate on other LSU fans. We reserved that for Tulane, Ole Miss, and Bama fans.

I feel old in threads when comparing RBs and most posters never actually saw Faulk or Cecil play.

I lived in east stadium for a year. It wasn't East, I moved into the Pentagon barracks. We had no air conditioning there either, but hell, I was a poor kid who worked his way through school. My mom supported me in any way she could. When we went to the games as a student, we only had to present our student ID. The only time I had to wait in line wasn't for football, but to see the Pistol play against Kentucky in the AG Center.

All kidding aside, you know you are old in general when you remember teams up north - like Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, etc. being lilly white. And that wasn't too long ago either, in the 80's.

I went to my first game in TS as an 8 year old in 1949 when it was a horseshoe. Ushered as a Boy Scout in the 1950s as they enclosed the south end.
