Panthers game in week 2 seems like it will be a dogfight

Forgive me for looking ahead for a moment - but it seems like Week 2 in Carolina is kind of the catalyst for how our first 4 games go. As we've all heard, many NFL teams including our beloved Saints break down the season into four 4-game "quarters".
If we beat Carolina we will be at worst 3-1 over the first four with a great crack at the Packers. If we lose to Carolina we could be 2-2 and 3 games behind Green Bay (when you consider they'd hold the tiebreak). You could almost kiss away hopes of home field advantage at that point.
Mates, Week 2 in Carolina is going to be crucial. I am excited about seeing our boys strap it on this week for realz, but next week will be intense against Cameron W. Newton and our newest rivals.

Oh man you guyz are we sleeping on the Panthers?

They weren't a good team last year and won't be a good team this year. Signed two RBs to absurd contracts (one of whom is hurt already) and had a draft that addressed none of their weaknesses.

Read it up until "mates". Rolled eyes and clicked return to board...

Pretty sure you're misusing the word "catalyst."
But it's cool; I know you're ESL.

I dunno I was using it in this context:
a person or thing that precipitates an event or change: His imprisonment by the government served as the catalyst that helped transform social unrest into revolution.
I feel like it's a game in which a loss will make a huge impact on the rest of the season.

I agree. It's going to be a really tough game and they are going to come to play for sure.

It will be much like last year. A fight for a while, but saints pull away in the 4th.

Or like the second game where we pulverize them basically from the 2nd quarter on..
