I realize there will be many many other things to be worried with in the coming days. However I can remember what Juan and Danny did to the coast/lower marshes of Plaquimens Parish 15-20 years ago. As fragile as the marsh is right now I fear this storm all be it much weaker could really be a game changer down there. I hope I am wrong...

The fact this thing just stalled out in one of the worst possible spots. Best case was the water was already very high and the marsh was completely under water, if not I think it's going to be ugly.

the thing that worries me is that the storm surge wasn't that great, so a lot of the inner marsh probably wasn't completely under water

I hope you are wrong, but it doesn't look good. It's just sitting directly on top of it right now wreaking havoc.

I hope you are a freaking idiot and have no idea what you are talking about, but I don't think that is the case.

Slick and GP....

I hope I am being idiotic also however I've been in the marshes of that area for over 30 years. I watched them when we "thought" they were healthy and how small storms/depressions like Juan and Danny ate them up because they stalled like Isaac did. This thing stalled for about 24 hours and was in one of the worst locations to do so. Nothing would make me happier than to be proven wrong. I would love to just have to make repairs to the camp and go teal hunting, however I suspect it will be worse than that.

I hope you're wrong. It's sad to know that there is nothing you can do for a thing that we all love so much. heartbreaking to just watch it disappear.

Worst thing for me was when the last part of the beaches went at Sandy point. I grew up playing on those beaches as a kid while my dad fished. I ran all over them. Used to be close to a mile long just a few years back. About four years ago the last of that chain washed away, now all I have is memories. After that stretch went I have been kinda numbed to the loss. However it all still hurts.

hoping you are wrong too, I'm hearing water level rise made it up the MS to br, this is surely going to kill all feed in the marsh for duck season, I know there is much more to worry about right now though
