Alongside Matt Barkley, Shepard was considered the top quarterback of the high school class of 2009 by both Rivals.com[2] and Scout.com[3] before converting to wide receiver upon arriving at LSU.

he was totally misjudged. Doesn't have the arm to play QB and not really a great athlete. He is a good athlete though. Probably should have been a 4 star on rivals. Is developing into a pretty good WR. Could be a good contributer this season and possibly work himself into a mid to late round draft pick.

Or...maybe he couldn't understand complex defenses or understand the position for the college game. These high school rankings are heavier on physical ability than football IQ.

The guy probably couldn't cut it upstairs...which says a lot considering who we had under center.

A lot of times the guy failed to understand the simple concept of "don't run with the ball before you catch it"...he probably couldn't predict a blitz or ever see past his 1st read. I have a feeling he would have been sacked...a lot...
