I'd like to see some independent confirmation of this. All of the reports seem to originate with infowars and have swept through the conservative blogosphere from there, swelling the already enlarged amygdalas of the faithful.

So Jam...where were you shacked up when Katrina hit? If you don't think there would be 'civil unrest' in the advent of an economic collapse, and the need for good guys with big heat...then you exhibit you're considerable naivete' to the board. Read your history book dude. Watch the evening news. All manner of heathen, rogues and sociopaths out there; a lot of them Democrats. And then go buy yourself the tools to do your turn at maintaing civility in your neighborhood.

You don't think people would take out their frustrations on the SSA offices and employees if the checks stopped? Have you not seen how people act when their teams win? People have rioted for way less. Just sayin.

I don't know what the deal is with this purchase. Maybe someone has some extra money in their budget to spend before the end of the FY.
Also a good thing I noticed is that the procurement is set aside for service disabled veteran owned small businesses. 
I'm sure this is standard practice for these kind of purchases, but I still like to see it.

That's what I thought too. If you've ever been to a SS office and see what kind of zoo it is, you quickly appreciate the presence of armed guards at the front desk. Sounds like a routine purchase to me.

I think that the relative goodness or harm that government does, is in the eye of the (ideological) beholder, J. Holder's Justice Dept. winks and nods at Black Panthers weilding billy clubs in front of voting precints, and sues States that attempt to weed out illegal voters. It all starts at the top; guns in the hands of individuals who do right...good thing. I was ELATED to see the National Guard show up, out here in the country. There was a line of increasingly desperate individuals, out of gas, parked on the road, with nowhere to go and nothing to eat or drink. And a lot of them would shoot you for your tennis shoes with a full belly...much less in dire straights.
If a 'government' shields and defends lawlessness, for whatever (ideological) reason, and turns them loose on the good folk...then that government would be tyrannical. And fair game for overthrow. If they turn their heat on the heathen...good thing; that's what we pay them for. I'd expect as much for my money. And if they don't handle it...the rednecks will. Though I'll admit...there are redneck country folk that I don't want as neighboors.
All about character. And character is the first thing to go in a crisis. But for the few.
I think that there is a chance that if Romney cuts the EPA out, the economy might come roaring back...and a lot this would go away. I hope.

BOOONNNKKK! Wrong...JB. The essence of this thread is related to our fear of a rogue govenment, gunning up for their *opponents*. My point is that our fear is warranted according to just WHAT the government does with those bullets...assuming that they are stocking up on hp's for human consumption.
