It might have been unclear in the Princess and Queen, in WOIaF, states that she was seed of the dragon. Page 81 list that all of the non-Targaryen dragon riders were dragon seeds.
The same page also says it's unclear.
Conventional wisdom would also say that if you could only have the dragons blood to ride a dragon that the Targs would've never put out an open casting call for riders when they realized they had more riders than dragons.

I wonder what wildfire would do to the white walkers and the night's king? Would they be able to put out that type of fire as they did a normal fire? Tyrion sure used up a lot of it during the battle of blackwater.

If it doesn't work on the WWs, it sure would work on the wights.

I wonder how long it takes to make the stuff? Someone definitely needs to be getting on that, because I'm betting Tyrion used it all at Blackwater.

Yea I figured he used it all. No one in kings landing really gives a shite about the wall so I hope the nerds down there are back making it.

Cersei made some to burn down the tower of the hand of the king. Just multiple that order by a million.

Found some support for one of my crackpot theories that I had forgotten about.
The theory is that the Maesters and the Citadel are one of the major players in the end game and are opposed to the magic of both the winter and the fire variety.
In discussing something on another board and checking Wiki OI&F I came across the following quote by Maester Marwyn:
Actually that's probably not so much support for the theory as the place where I likely got it from and forgot I'd read it.
I can kind of see the possibility of a Lord of the Rings ending where at the end the ages of Elves, dwarves, etc. ended and the age of men began. Only here the age of magic could end and the age of science begin.

Who do you think killed all the dragons the last time around? Gallant dragonslayers armed with swords? The world the Citadel is building has no place in it for sorcery or prophecy or glass candles, much less for dragons. Ask yourself why Aemon Targaryen was allowed to waste his life upon the Wall, when by rights he should have been raised to archmaester. His blood was why. He could not be trusted. No more than I can

Other than Sam being there doing his thing, I had forgotten about that angle. Certainly worth considering.

I definitely feel they are connected with another player, I just can't decide who. Only real possibilities are the High Septon or an outside force. Would be about par for the course if they were a secret order that called the White Walkers when humanity learned too much magic. The keepers of the sacred reset button if you will.

That is an interesting theory considering they are about as far away from the White Walkers as you can get, kind of protection through distance. The only place safer than Oldtown would be maybe Sunspear forcing them to cross Dorne.

Another possibility could be the Tyrells. GRRM has stated that Willas and Garlen will be larger players in the future books.
Also, it makes sense, as Willas is the one advising Oldtown to strengthen its defenses following Eurons raids along the coast.

Since the Iron Throne was forged by dragon fire, I feel that the 'iron' is a misnomer. Does anyone know if the throne contains Valyrian steel swords? I think it has to at least have some in it.

Everything that we know of the throne itself and of Valyrian steel says no, there is no chance that the throne is made of Valyrian steel. The throne is supposedly made from the swords of the people conquered by Aegon and his dragon just fused them all together. Varyrian steel supposedly requires spells during the forging process which would mean that they would have to be taken all the way down and then reforged in the best case.
I think that we will find that the stone men of the Valyrian ruins will have passed down the spells of Valyrian steel or at least found them written somewhere and now that we have Dragons again, eventually we will see someone forging new weapons.

Right, but there could have also been magic use in the making of the throne. The notes that the throne cuts unworthy sitters leads me to believe that the swords are still sharp after hundreds of years, which is a distinct quality of Valyrian steel. E.g. Rhaenyra being cut while wearing armor and the Mad King always having scabs from the throne.
Secondly, do you not think that at least some of the people Aegon conquered possessed Valyrian swords? Ice is proof that Westeros had Valyrian steel before the Targaryen conquest.

I could get behind this, but I have not read enough to know; can the stone men talk? They seemed very zombie-like in the episode.

I don't think Aegon took any of the houses great swords to forge the Iron Throne. I think it's more just some of the lesser swords of the lords vassals that they took. That would merely make all of Aegon's enemies hate him if he took their Valyrians Steel from them and simply turned it into a chair.

I thought they were just men with greyscale all over so they were sent to Valyria to live out their days instead of spreading the disease. I would think they could speak but they are just not kind to outsiders. If Dany comes flying into Valyria on Drogon's back, they might see her as coming home instead of an outsider and take to her like the slaves did.

there is a finite number of known Valyrian weapons in Westeros' history and there is a list of them on the last couple pages. If one was put into the throne I don't think it was intentional. I would also think that someone would tear the entire throne apart to get a Valyrian sword out of it since they are so rare.

I honestly don't remember ever reading that, not saying that it isn't there, just don't remember it. I thought the point of the throne being made of swords was that no one should ever be too comfortable sitting the throne.

True, but it also could be a show of power.
Another possibility, the throne was forged from iron swords using dragonfire and magic turning the iron into Valyrian steel?
With the knowledge that Valyrian steel kills WWs, it became that much more precious and I think will have a huge role in winning the war against the WWs/Night's King.
Perhaps the throne is found to contain steel, it is melted down to forge weapons/armor to fight the war, and also effectively ends the symbol of Targaryen rule.

And as her lord husband Prince Daemon escorted her from the hall, cuts were seen upon Her Grace's legs and the palm of her left hand. Drops of blood fell to the floor as she went past, and wise men looked at one another, though none dared speak the truth aloud: the Iron Throne had spurned her, and her days upon it would be few.[1]

It's also interesting that Jamie is said to have been chilling on the throne when Ned walked in the room during the sack of King's Landing.

While there is only a handful of known Valyrian steel weapons in Westeros, I believe that Tyrion stated (or thought to himself) that there was around 200 of them in Westeros at one time (and thousands in the world). I believe he was wondering to himself where they all went.
ETA: With that said though, I doubt they are in the Iron Throne.
