Les Miles did the right thing...

I'm sure it has been said, but I wanted to say it as an Auburn fan. I loved the way TM7 played the game of football, and he was a great player. But the LSU program is bigger than one player, and Les is running a tight ship when it comes to player discipline (as shown by TM7 being removed from the team).
Gene Chizik and Les Miles have both shown that they aren't afraid to get rid of their best players if they can't follow guidelines placed in front of them.
Kudos to Les Miles.

If he could've kept him on the team he would have. He had no choice.

Are you really comparing ethics between Miles and Chizik .....

I don't know that anyone knows for sure what Les would have done if it WERE his decision. It's my understanding that it was not, it was University policy mandated above and beyond the head football coach.
He did say he agreed with the decision. But I would expect him to say that.

Did Les really have a choice in this matter.
I do not understand all this love or hate for Les in this matter.
He did what had to be done, like it or not.

You know this how?

it surely is fishy how these fans of opposing teams are congratulating Les for kicking TM7 off the team

You don't think he could have done something to cover it up he really wanted to?

We all know that if Les was like Meyer or some other shady coach they could have found a way to make sure he didn't fail a third test.

This is the question Les is probably pondering about TM7

Nice post but comparing Chizic to Miles is like comparing Auburn to Alabama.

People know nothing about drug testing on here. There is no cover up and miles did nothing. He had to be dismissed and as others pointed out it wasn't his or allevas decision. He failed a second test which was automatic expulsion. Cover up attempts in these matters are fruitless and would have caused more damage than good in the end.
Grow up people. One player is NEVER bigger than the program. He probably picked up a few more 4* recruits by not doing a damn thing. Les is good with mama's for talking about issues just like this one when he is on a recruiting g visit.

it was University policy
Yesterday I asked this question to someone who kept repeating the same thing and never got an answer. Are you saying the University tests the general student population? Or are you using University, athletic department, and team interchangeably?

Student athletes. Not the general population thank God. But it is a university policy for that subset of students. All schools have programs because certain drugs are pe's. They are amateur athletes after all.
