Car vs boat collision......UPDATED

So my brother and I are on our way to Delacroix and someone ran into my boat. They Directly hit the rear of the motor. It's a Tim's flat with a Suzuki motor. The trailer is a little messed up, I noticed some cracks on the transom, and the motor bracket is bent. Do you think bringing it to Tim's to get the hull structure and motor checked out would be best? Also, what else might I need to get checked out bc I am worried about the lower unit?

I would definitely have it checked out by an expert and billed to their ins. Any chance it's enough damage to "total" it?

Have it checked by a professional.

If the transome is cracked and the motor mount bent I would be willing to bet that the boat is totaled.

Also bring the trailer to have an estimate done separate from the boat.
Hope yall got a police report.

Been there done this. Dam State Farm wanted to screw me. The guy that plowed me had SF and so did I.
Had to hire a blood sucker to get my shite fixed.
You need to contact there insurance company to see who you can bring it to. Tim's people are good people.

TUrn it over to insurance and make sure an authorized Boat surveyor assesses damage.

Brought it to Tim's marine today, didn't sound to optimistic. Said they did know how the lower unit was not damaged more and found numerous cracks in transom.

their insurance will be buying a new boat

Holy shite, 25 y/o boat, 26 yo motor, 41 yo trailer!?!?
Not worth much, brah. Expect to get lowballed, or less then you think it is worth.

I thought about that. However, it is in great shape bc it's been garage kept since new.
