Coach Miles and his staff welcomed 103 players to campus yesterday, as the Tigers get ready to begin preseason camp today. As expected, Coach Miles welcomed former Penn State quarterback Rob Bolden to the team, but what wasn't expected is that Bolden was one of two quarterbacks to transfer to LSU. The other was Brad Kragthorpe of Idaho State, the son of LSU quarterbacks coach Steve Kragthorpe. I don't know a lot about Brad Kragthorpe except that he is listed at 5'11", 175, and that he redshirted last year. In his senior year in high school, he threw for 1,738 yards, 28 touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 126-for-199 passes (63%). He also ran for 425 yards and four touchdowns.

Nice to have all that depth at QB, but it does make me wonder if something's going on with Randall and/or Rivers.

Calm down people. Would you want to play at Idaho State or at LSU with your Dad as your coach?? I doubt the kid sees the field if our QB's are as advertised. Its a family move.

I'm shocked that the team would waste a walk-on spot for the son of the QB coach who is going to take some of the money he makes and spend it on tuition for his son.

It is for doing stuff like this that I really like Les Miles as a human being. Not all HCs in positions like his would open the door for this kind of thing. And if Brad turns out to be the real deal, so much the better for all concerned. A real win/win.

Maybe he can come in a be a solid scout team contributor.
I remember Jimmy Welker from a few years back, he saw maybe 2 or 3 actual game snaps in 4 years but I always heard he did a hell of a job running scout squad.
There's always a need for guys like this.
