quote:

"Nobody trusts him. Nobody trusts him," Brees said when asked about players' attitudes toward Goodell. "I'm not talking about a DUI, or using a gun in a strip club, which are pretty clear violations. I think there're too many times where the league has come to its decision in a case before calling a guy in, and the interview is just a façade. I think now if a guy has to come in to talk to Roger, he'll be very hesitant because he'll think the conclusion has already been reached."

Drew sure is yapping a lot lately about Roger. If Drew was black, would he have been called into the principal's office by now?

Of course.

Welcome back Chad.

ETA: Doesn't it feel good to know some of us noticed you were gone.

I've always been noticed when gone, whether that made them happy or sad is a different subject.

Good for Drew. Someone with some clout needs to stand up and speak out. I still think this BS pay for performance stuff is less detrimental to the game than spygate was. Spygate was out right cheating. Every player on defense is getting paid by the NFL to make good hard hits.

The problem is that spygate is not a league wide practice, bounties are. Goodell is trying to make a point that such programs have no place in the NFL. Not a bad point to make. Albeit a terrible way of going about it.

No, the problem is that Goodell has tried to turn the Saints pay for performance program (which is League-wide) into a pay for injury program in the eyes of the weak-minded media, etc., and although it worked at first, the lack of evidence has turned the media onto the Saints side.

We got a long way to go on that. ESPN has a monopoly on the public's mindset and they have yet to come around to the truth. NFL Network will never turn against Goodell, and I imagine neither will ESPN. When ESPN starts asking Roger the hard questions and starts taking him on, only then will the media turn onto the Saints side. People actually have to do something to get others to change their mind, right now all the Saints have is a couple of writers that are on their side. That, and every one of their fans.

After that quote, PK played the "why didn't they at least try to talk to Goodell" card.

Well, Petey, Anthony Hargrove was proven innocent of the "give me my money" quote, Roger Goodell admitted Hargrove was right, but his suspension still stands because apparently he has "other" evidence that Hargrove is guilty that Hargrove can't refute because he is not allowed to see it.

Tell. Me, what's the use of talking to him if they are guilty of things that they can't even see?

Every single time they talk about it, they show the Saints making a tackle...awesome, it's football. The whole thing is a cluster. I know, I know :beatdeadhorse: :beatdeadhorse:

It's a shame that the players who are shown tackling players during the ESPN "bounty montages" can't sue the network for libel.
