PC Game Freezing

Im having lots of trouble getting some of my games to work that I bought off steam. I can play some of my games just fine (Arma 2, DayZ, killing floor, worms, dead island, etc) but I can't get some of my other games to load without freezing up my computer (Batman AA and AC, Saints Row the third, etc). With the batmans, I get to the start up screen, but when I click play my whole pc freezes and does this ... It also does that when I try to play saints row. Any help?
Specs- i5 2500k, 8gb 1600RAM, radeon HD 7850 2gb and windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

that looks a lot like your monitor is trying to display an incompatible resolution. Is there an external settings manager for these games?

Make sure you Video drivers are up to date. If the whole computer is locking up it does sound like a hardware issue. Does it let you ctrl alt del out?

Step 1.) Look at Event Viewer
Step 2.) Google information found in Event Viewer
And as mentioned, if a certain application (game) is freezing your computer and the graphics display as you've shown, it's most likely related to your video card. Update the drivers and see if you can reproduce the issue.
