What to get? I hear cash only. Is that true? Two blocks away so I'm gonna try it tuesday night probably.

First off - one of my favorite restaurants in Nola. Everyone says make reservations, but I like to go early, get a cocktail downstairs and walk around Frenchman. You can give them your name and periodically check in. However, six or more and a reservation is a must. Cash Only. Mediocre at best alcohol. Start with mussels and seafood cantelloni for appetizers. Salad is also meh, so don't get too dissapointed. Veal Ocean for Main dish - no questions asked.

It is very very good. Yes it is cash only. You will put your name on a list, and wait in the bar downstairs to have your name called. The Apple bar has cheap drinks and good music, so time will fly. The Italian is great, my recommendation is to try either the Veal Chop Marsala, or the Veal Cutlets topped with Ocean sauce.

Though of Late I have preferred going to Melange Speakeasy right around the corner.

I didn't think you could make reservations, at least that's what they told us a couple of months ago.

Get the mussells for apps. I had the rack of lamb and they were fantastic! Everyone else had dishes with ocean sauce. Very small place, cash only, drink downstairs while waiting for table. I would def eat there again

Rack of lamb FTW! Not on the menu, but it's a special nearly every night. I was seriously bummed last time I went... we got there late and the ROL was sold out.

Melange is very good - been open about 9 months. Parking can be tough on weekend nights since its virtually on Frenchman. Nice bar and drinks to go along with pretty good grub. I've had the grilled tuna and the shrimp/grits and would recommend both.

We had 6 and they wouldn't take a reservation. This was probably back in Jan or Feb so they may have changed the policy.

Melange

I'm usually out on Frenchmen at least once during the week and still haven't made it here. Is it in the space where the Lebanese/pizza place used to be?

No-front door is actually on Chartres. It's just down the street
from Adolfo's. Next door to the Michalapolos studio.
