Again I'll say it one more time. I'd take the dream team because if the big men. I like this years team at 1-3 better.

I wish we could have sent a squad like this to the 1972 Olympics.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Wilt Chamberlain
Spencer Haywood
Elvin Hayes
Bob McAdoo
Julius Erving
Connie Hawkins
Jerry West
Pete Maravich
Walt Frazier
Tiny Archibald
Charlie Scott

Think the Soviet Union would have hung with those guys? Some others left off the team were Bill Walton, Dan Issel, Rick Barry, John Havlicek, Artis Gilmore and George McGinnis.

Stockton + Magic >>>>>> Paul + Deron + Westbrook

Jordan + Clyde >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kobe + Harden

Pippen + Mullin + Bird in a slight edge over LeBron, Durant, Melo, and Iggy, but since I get the feeling you'll throw a bitch fit about this one, I'll give the 12 team the SLIGHT advantage.

I just don't think you quite understand how much better the big men for the Dream Team are over the '12 team. Hell the Dream Team could start Jordan, Pippen, and 3 of those 4 bigs and just rotate the 4th one in and beat the '12 pretty bad under today's rules, a massacre under the old rules.

For all you tards who keep saying magic bird Jordan...Magic was old and slow and had came off a year not being in the league and bird could barely walk without back problems... Quit fantasizing about the past you sound like old men reminiscing about the glory days every sport and their athletes of progressed except maybe boxing...

The Dream Team would slaughter the 2012 team. Outside of Kobe, Lebron and Durant, no one else would have made the dream team.

It would be really close. The dream team beat teams by 40+ because they were playing shitty competition. There were hardly any foreigners in the NBA at that time. Now these foreign teams starting lineups all basically play in the NBA. The Gasols, Dirk, Tony Parker, Manu, and Rubio are all stars in the NBA that play on these international teams plus there are many more. I bet you can't name more than 1 international player that the dream team played against that was a star in the NBA.

And I really can't stand Lebron but there is no way in hell Pippen could hold Lebron and if you start Durant at the 4 Barkley wouldn't stand a chance to hold him

Shane Battier guarded Durant in the NBA finals, I would stick Drexler on him if he gave me trouble. BTW: Barkely spent his entire life guarding 6'9 forwards, I think he can handle it.

Pippen could guard Lebron, could he shut him down no, but no one could. Just like no one is shutting down Jordan.
BTW: the competition wasn't that bad, the USSR had the best center in the world. and Tony Kucoh was a soild NBA'er.

There is no way in hell Pip, Mullin, and Bird have the edge over LBJ, Melo, Durant. Especially with Bird being older. LBJ honestly is in my opinion the 2 best player to player to put on a uniform. Durant has the clear edge over an older Bird and Melo is light years better than Mullin.

The team with the better front court wins and thats the dream team.

Chris Mullins makes for a much better teammate that Melo. Mullins can shoot lights out.

Well, Melo is not light years better then Mullen at that time but I do agree with the rest of that. I'm 35 and thought the dream team was the best thing ever when I was younger. And I still think they are the best team ever. But, a lot of these guys posting here are not going to look at this subjectively. Players flat out are more athletic now. The only clear advantage that team would have had is the SG position, but today's team would have just as much of an advantage at the 3 and probably the 4 if LBJ is going to play there with Durant at the 3.

he would be the best man for the job and would probably talk so much shite to throw Lebron off his game some.

yea i can't believe he even said that esp with Lebron on the team. He probably wasn't even born or was shitting his pants still in 92.

People forget the 92 team played a bunch of no talent scrubs who just wanted to take pictures after the game with the dream team. Not a chance in hell that happens now
