Best SimCity game?

Last one I played was 2000. Loved that one and SimCity for SNES. The ones after any good?

Agreed. For some reason the disasters seemed way more fun with the worse graphics.

I've tried the others, sort of liked 3000 after playing for some time but nothing beat SimCity2000. Played this for hours on end.

SC2K was probably the best vanilla version they made.
SC4 was/is incredible with all the modding/user made dl content available, which easily makes it the best of the franchise. The massive transportation add-on mod is a must for any SC4 player.
The new SC will be ultra moddable as well, so expect more of the same. Unfortunately, it looks like they are staying with square tiles instead of moving to hex tiles.

I liked the one for SNES and Sim City 4, but I played 3000 Unlimited the most.

Sweet ... I loved 2000 so much...getting all the crazy futuristic buildings when you got to a population milestone was awesome
But my damn game would always freeze/corrupt at some point.

I play SC4 religiously. My largest city is only 150k
