I need a decent place to eat in the downtown NO (specifically around casino but does not have to be) area that is not overly expensive. Ruth's was suggested, but I really don't want to spend over a $100 just for two of us. Open to all ideas, needs to be sit down. TIA.

Coop's if you don't want to spend a lot. It's on Decatur across from Margaritaville.

I would say La Boca. Its an easy walk from the casino and you probably wont spend over 100 unless you order drinks.

Gordon Biersch is decent if you're looking for a more casual joint....

I second the La Boca or Cafe Giovani suggestions.

Rio Mar wouldn't be bad either.

Honestly I like Grand Isle right across the street. The duck poboy is rockin, shrimp and grits are really good, great drinks, oysters, etc. Never had a bad meal there and it's casual and not $200 a couple.
