Drew Brees ?@drewbrees If NFL fans were told there were "weapons of mass destruction" enough times, they'd believe it. But what happens when you don't find any????

this seems a little out of character for him, no?

LINK

ETA: and reading the replies to him from other fans just makes me ESPN and the media have skewed this case so bad there really is no going back...the Saints are just a bunch of cheating, cheap-shotting thugs and thats the end of it...but maybe thats his point, and he is just trolling Twitter

I get what he's saying, and he has a valid point. But he really shouldn't go after "NFL fans", as asinine as they are. I'd rather Drew just keep quiet about all this and stay away from it. He's got bigger fish to fry.

If the Saints would just let this drop, it would die down. But Noooooo!

I think Drew Brees' popularity around the country has been dropping this summer.

There's nothing that Saints can do at this point.

They're the bounty team no matter what, unless Goodell has a Tiger Woods-style press conference admitting his sins.

This thing gets stranger by the minute. So many of the players are adamant that nothing was going on. I just can't believe all of these guys would continue to deny this stuff if there was any truth to it because ultimately it will hurt their reputations more.

Exactly. Players have been suspended before and you don't hear a peep from them. This is different.

I read that Vitt has, throughout the entire process, has never been accused of contributing money. Now, all of a sudden, he's down for $5000? This is why the lawyers are suspicious.

They've already taken it. No need to ask for more.

Shocked that Drew tweeted that. I love that he is supporting his guys, but I'm surprised he went that far. For someone that has made it clear he isn't playing for this team until he gets a contract, he sure is acting like he's already secretly signed. Just sayin'

I always knew Drew Brees was a Democrat

Awesome dig at George W. Retard. He fits in great with all of his uptown liberal neighbors haha.

Why? I think his shot at Bush is much more interesting than his shot at Goodell/NFL fans. I'm surprised he made this comment.

he has just been pretty quiet through all of this bounty talk, the tweet just seemed to come out of nowhere

and like others said, its strange that its a shot at NFL fans and not really at Goodell directly

I think its because his team that he won a Super Bowl with is gonna be looked at as the bounty team from now on because of the NFL and the Media and he knows its all bullshite.
