I might be going inshore fishing this weekend and want to know where, if any specific area, I need to go, what I need to use bait wise, and if there are any marine forecasts for the area. What time would be the best?

I absolutely love fishing but have not fished the area before. We will be on my aunt's boat, she knows a bit about where to go I am sure but I want to make sure I am increasing my odds.

TIA

Don't, go to dularge or GI. You will thank me later.

dularge is the correct answer.

But, for reds go north to shark bayou and weeks bay. On the south side of weeks bay (tip of the shark bayou) there is the "trash pile". There will most likely be people there.

For specks, go south to the cove on the northeast side of the camps of the actual point. That and out south of the point to the reefs and potentially rigs if you can make it. On the point itself, go out a couple hundred yards. I've caught specks in the general area.

I don't know if anything is running or not. These are just general areas that I have fished.

I don't ever fish that side of the bay. I fish on the east side and finally have a nice enough boat to go to the reefs and MI

head to marsh island(you can see it from the point), due south. fish the bayous, grass lines, runouts, etc of marsh island w/ some dead shrimp under a popping cork or on the bottom if you find a deep hole. you should catch some reds and maybe drum and flounder.

i fished out there a few times and haven't done so well. i hear its only good for a few months out the year when the river gets low. other than that its pretty tough fishing from what i hear. good luck

Southeast winds at 15 kts. It will get rough in the bay. Chase reds on shoreline protected from wind.
