One of the more enlightened pieces of legislation she introduced many years ago in the Senate was to allow legislators to sit for the State Bar Exam without having to attend law school. Somehow she was of the opinion that service in the legislature was the same as earning a law degree.

FYI, anyone used to be able to take the bar exam, regardless of having completed law school.
The trial lawyers association got this law rescinded to protect their cartel.
Bajoie's carve out for a particularly small class, of which she and few others were members, is a great example of her love of political patronage and I'm sure she will fit in perfectly in the Landrieu administration. Those 92% who voted for him are kicking themselves now.

Well, it's been about 70 years since one could take the bar exam without benefit of a law degree. When she tried to pass that legislation it was designed to benefit her and a few other nameless numbskulls. The Lousiana Supreme Court regulates the practice of law and determines admissions to the bar.
