Not sure how this will effect the Hornets coverage.

quote:

"The decision to form a new company signals a change in the way news is delivered to an increasingly wired New Orleans area audience," the announcement read. "The three days of publication were chosen in part so that the print edition is distributed across the entire week, but also because Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays have proved to be the most valuable days for the newspaper's advertisers."

...According to Gambit, staff cutbacks could include laying off a third of the Picayune's reporters, reducing a staff of 150 to 100 or fewer.

not at all.

especially with late west coast games. there will still be 2 beat writers traveling. no way they don't continue to send beat writers on the road.

Hate that they are doing this. The website sucks. I liked the Monday paper after Saints games to read the articles with player interviews. Too bad they cannot keep Monday as well.

Not sure if that is true or not (does not sound unreasonable), but hopefully they expand coverage during football season.

In Baton Rouge, the Advocate says Monday is the slowest day, may be different for the Times Picayune

Couldn't agree more. New format is dogshit and clearly built for cell phones. All regional papers use the same host or programmer for their sites, so I don't know if that had an impact

Exactly. I HATE the new layout with a passion. I useed to visit NOLA multiple times daily, but I've only been there three times since the new layout.
