I have 2 houses paid off, 2 vehicles paid off, and my monthly expenses are minimal.
When I'm earning money, I put most of it away, or invest it in various family type ventures. (never lost anything doing this yet)
I don't buy "stuff" and I rarely pay full price for anything. My main splurges lately have been my guns but I could easily move them and get more than I paid for.

Split paper towels and use half at a time.
Use Walmart sacks for carrying lunch to work and to line bathroom trash cans.
Eat leftovers for 4 days straight to not waste them.
Wear tennis shoes until they are fricking bald underneath.

I had a coworker who did these things:
Used the same paper sack and napkin each day with his lunch until they fell apart.
Drank room temp cokes because he did not want to open his fridge much (saw him do this).
To not buy brake pads until it became an emergency, he would take the flattest route home to avoid hills.
Got in early and parked in the first spot as he entered the deck so as to not waste any more gas.
Never turned on his home A/C until June 21-23rd, each year - the official start of summer.
The guy was miserable but retired with a shiitpot full of money.

I buy used tires.
I buy my books at Goodwill, and use the library often.
I've bought clothes from eBay and Goodwill.(If you know how to identify fake shite and stay away from it, it's pretty easy to get great stuff for dirt cheap.)
I *do* buy stuff at regular stores, but not if I can help it.

I use both sides of the toilet paper. I cannot understand how most people only use one side and end up wasting AT LEAST half of it. It's not like you don't wash your hands after you poo so who cares.

Are you talking about folding a loaded wad of paper over to effectively create a blank crack cleaning canvas (i.e. hidden shite sandwich)? If so, how many folds do you get out of this before your canvas has the surface area of a fingernail?
