So sorry to hear, FT

As sick as it sounds, it bothers me more when dogs die than some people, because the dogs do a hell of a lot more good in this world than some people

I hear that, I'm gonna do what my dad does and breed/buy my pups in pairs. That way one has the other to play with and you always have 4.. my family is dog hoarders though

OMG losing a good dog is horrible, but losing one that way (and the person's reaction) is horribler.

Sorry for your loss man. Really am.

Sorry for your loss man. I lost one on my dogs last Saturday. She had IMHA and went thru 5 blood transfusions at LSU but couldn't pull thru. Loosing a pet sucks pretty bad...

I am in general agreement with this. Losing a close companion as many dogs are, is painful. I will never have another one simply because losing them is pretty damn rough.

Thanks everybody. Yall are good people. Gotta try and figure out a plan for this evening when the kids get home. I know they'll want another dog but I'm torn. Don't want the heartbreak down the road. I don't usually buy doys. I find a good abandonded puppy that gets dumped out here in the country and take them in. Kinda hesitant to do that now with young kids around. Never know what kinda temperment is bred into a dog

My grandfather was a very religious man. At first I thought he was joking but the older I get and go through things like this I wonder if he wasn't serious. He always said the only fault he had ever found that God made was not making the life of a good dog more comparable in years to ours. I miss my powpow and all the good dogs we had growing up.

Don't deny your kids the love of a good dog in fear of one day losing that friend. Sure you might need a minute to get past ole Blue but the kids need a good dog.

The only bad thing about a good dog is he'll never live as long as you do. Hope the next one is as good as ol blue
