Johnny's and Central Grocery are the only answers for this.

That is what I thought. I just wanted confirmation.

I have walked by a million times but never in. Is it a place to sit and eat or just a market?

Hit up Parkway. It's near City Park so you can eat there before taking the kids to Story Land

I've always been partial to Camellia Grill. It's open 24 hours (kinda like a New Orleans Louie's) and the Freezes are amazing (it's kinda like a mix between an icee and a milkshake). It's pretty close to Audubon Park so you can eat there before taking your kid to the zoo or playing a round of golf in the park. There's also a good vintage clothing store around the corner from it that the wife would probably love.

Look up Bud's Broiler. There's several of them around the city (one right near City Park). The burgers are delicious, cooked over charcoal, and they have the best BBQ sauce I've ever had.

What are some other local "must eats" that I have just been too drunk or occupied with titties to try?

Liuzza's is my favorite. It's an amazing value and the food is legit. They have some of the best onion rings I've ever had and I know their muffaletta is good as is their seafood (really anything on the menu).

Another place that could be fun is the Rock N Bowl. Live bands and bowling. I don't know how great the crowd is for kids, but it could be a lot of fun for everyone.

Muffalatta? Market place is the best? No?

negative. Central Grocery on Decatur. Often imitated, never duplicated.
