The difference with this game is that things you can buy, can be found. If you play enough you can find the best equipment. Nothing that can only be bought with real money will be put in the game.
And eventually I'll play hardcore. But I would like to keep my character after I die, especially until I beat each difficulty. One accidental death in hardcore and you're starting back from scratch.

Regardless, it's stupid that someone that is willing to shell out that money can get the gear much, much easier, faster, and put in less time than I would have to to get that same piece. That's my discrepancy.
