yeah. the position may be up in the air and HR doesnt want egg immediately on his face, so he strings you out until its officially dead in the water.
theres a lot of variables here. dont get discouraged, just keep looking.

This is exactly what my problem was. The HR woman liked me and an attorney on the management committee liked me a lot. The attorney I was going to be working directly under preferred the other candidate for the position. I ended up getting a different position under the managing partner and the rest is history.
The HR person doesn't want you looking for something else because he wants something to open up because he wants you there more than likely. I wouldn't wait around on them much longer and keep looking if you have been waiting since mid-February.

I am 31. My previous experience is in this line of business and when I lived in BR I worked for a company that would be considered their rival. So they are legit.

It seems like your only option is to move on, but don't give up on this job in the process. If something comes up and two weeks later this job is offered you just have to compare the situation and make a decision from there.

I'd say wait a few days to call. It sounds like you've gone far enough along in the process to not be viewed as pestering or anything.

Just call him and tell him you really look forward to working with them, but you need to know something ASAP because you do need a job soon and can't really afford to wait around, especially if they are not 100% sure they will hire you.
