The bait boat out Cocodrie (Tracey Macy) is nowhere near that. I usually give him $30 and get a large amount of shrimp, probably 150.

$15-20 a quart on Big Lake at various locations. Number of shrimp dependant on size, but sure is faster than guy hand counting them one at a time for 0.25 to 0.45 each.

They are the same price as the guy on hwy 22 in madisonville. They are only a nickel higher. Nobody in the area has live shrimp. Their place is also not located on the water. They have to truck in saltwater and the shrimp. 5 cents more is not bad considering how much work goes into keeping shrimp at their location! They guy on hwy 22 last year was charging 50 cents a shrimp.!

I don't know much about live bait, but that seems reasonable.

The market will work itself out I guess.

People, one can buy a 10' test trawl with boards and ropes for under $200. Buy a $25 lic and you good to go. All the fresh livebait one can catch. The 10' test trawl folds up very small after using it.
