I don't think ESPN has a vendetta against the Saints. It's just the story right now and they are running with it. They have turned from a sports network to more of a news network(like Fox news and CNN). Before this mess, we we hardly ever on ESPN.

If you mean this as in they are a 24hr network more concerned with ratings than actual reporting, and they have an agenda they push and if there is nothing to talk about they blow up a story that isnt a big deal and drag it out for weeks at a time to boost their ratings because they paint it in a controversial light while ignoring the actual facts and evidenced and constantly pushing one side of the story and completely ignoring the other. Then i agree, they are like FOX and CNN

Pretty much. I know they are towing Goodell and the NFL's line but that's who they have a multi-billion dollar contract with. I've tried to stay away from ESPN as much as possible because of the obvious bias but the reporting is coming around a little bit compared to the beginning.

And I'm not sure if Goodell has a vendetta against the Saints or just the fact that he is an egomaniac and would do this to a lot of other teams if he had the chance. He has been changing the game for years. Some of the fines in the past few years have been for questionable (around shoulder pad area or accidental) hits yet he still fines them.

He has a vendetta against Payton because he couldn't get him for painkillers and Payton bragged about blowing off league rules and press conferences during the Super Bowl.

I still watch NFL network during the day when I'm doing my morning routine. Every time they have a guest on, they always ask them something along the lines of "When you hear talk of bounties, what do you think?"

It was priceless when Michael Irvin's answer turned into something about Seau and the host completely ignored it and shifted back to asking Sapp about bounties.

vendetta against the Saints
I think you have it wrong, brother. The people ESPN has a vendetta against are Saints fans like me and you. They're thinking about you right now and how to make your NFL experience less enjoyable. They couldn't stand to see people smiling and laughing and dancing in New Orleans after Super Bowl XLIV, and they just HAD to put a stop to it.

Wouldn't TMZ Sports be the TMZ of sports?

Sorry dude, wasn't meant for you personally or your post. Yours was the last post, so I just clicked reply. I'll make sure to avoid that in the future.

I just meant to everyone else, that it's as if some posters trying to impress someone by hourly stating they would never watch ESPN or go to their website.

If some idiotic Merry Sunshine assh*le doesn't think ESPN is grinding some sort of axe against the Saints, please explain the wiretap non-story. I hope Loomis owns there biased arse.

If you didn't hear the clip of Colin Cowshit saying the culture of the Saints is corrupt because the culture of the New Orleans is corrupt and all the people here are corrupt, you missed one of the bright moments in sports journalism.

I hope someone beats the shite out of the turd if he shows up for the Superbowl, which I guarantee will be our last as long as Godell in commish.

The hypocrisy of Goodell preaching player safety and an 18 game season is laughable. Where is the outrage?

It's pretty much confined to Louisiana and a few of the actual players in the league.

Bringing down the Saints is all ESPN thinks about, brother. They can't stand to see Saints fans smiling and laughing and enjoying life, and they're thinking about you right now and how they can try to make your life less happy.

why is this here
If you're referring to the picture of Warner getting tackled during the '09 playoff game against the Saints the answer is simple. Last week Warner said he had doubts about letting his children play football. When Amani Toomer called him out on it he posted a multipage response on his foundation's website. Mike and Mike talked about it this morning.

Quit being paranoid. It's not always about the bounty scandal.

You can make all the snarky smart arse comments you want, but if you don't understand that ESPN is piling on because they're an easy target since everybody hates them and they've already lost in the court of public opinion, then you're the one with a problem. They're giving the masses what they want: another reason to get all pissed off about the Saints.
