90's alt Albums from start to finish or almost that you can do forever?

First of all, I didn't realize we had the MUSIC BOARD NOW!!!! Thanks Chicken and co.!
Here are my picks and wanted to see how we all compared and contrasted...
1. Smashing Pumpkins, Siamese Dream.
How could anyone or why would anyone want to miss a song on a road trip from this gem? With the heavily droning riffs of "Cherub Rock" to inexplicably, but beautifully noisy "Quiet" to the everyone loves "Today" to a very underrated and layered song like "Hummer"...you get the idea. They're all great. Honestly, Soma might be the weakest song on the album and that tune could drive another mediocre band's album as the hit song. I'm not really a Pumpkins fan, more like a Siamese Dream fan.
The rest:
2. Helmet "Meantime" (for hard rock pleasure without the cheese)
3. Hum "You'd Prefer an Astronaut", "Downward is Heavenward" and "Electra 2000"...all of them are wonderful. Hum is not an acquired taste as you either love it off the bat or you do not and dismiss it as noisy shoegaze.
4. Soundgarden "Loud Love" and "Badmotorfinger"
5. Failure "Fantastic Planet"
6. Tool "Undertow"
7. Sponge "Rotting Pinata" (criinally underrated)
8. Veruca Salt "American Thighs"
9. Alice In Chains (any of the 6 EP's or LP's that they released from '90-'96)
10. Jane's Addiction "Ritual de lo Habitual"
^Those are about 18-21 albums, total, that I could take on a cross country NY to LA road trip and never have to hit skip if I dowenloaded them all in mp3 format, but in actual album lineup. WOw, were those some good musical days.

Interesting list.
Sound of White Noise is a great album as is Candlebox, Dirt, and Collective Soul.
Ceremony, however, is my least favorite album ever by The Cult and I love the Cult. I guess I loved them more prior to becoming an AMericanized arena cock rock band. "Love" and "Dreamtime" are wonderful albums.
EVer want to hear Electric (the one album it seems everyone loves by the Cult...meh, it's ok) would have sounded like without RR producing it and taking away their identity? Check out Manor Sessions and hear Love Removal Machine, Lil Devil, Electric Ocean, and Wildflower among others in their stripped down form. It sounds like the album that The Cult would have followed "Love" with. "Love Removal Machine" from the Manor Sessions kicks the shite out of the version we all know and have heard.

SP - Siamese Dream
Oasis - What's the story? (Morning Glory)
Foo Fighters - The Colour & The Shape (Top 5 for me)
Black Crowes - Shake Your Money Maker (This would also be in my top 5 "favorite sex albums" list
)
Nirvana - Nevermind (Not really sure why, because I don't like Nirvana for the most part. I think it's my man-crush on Grohl.)
Our Lady Peace - Clumsy (One of my all-time favorites)
Stone Temple Pilots - Core and Purple
The Verve - Urban Hymns
Candlebox - Self-Titled
Probably a few more.

Marilyn Manson - Mechanical animals
Dream Theater - Awake
Dream Theater - A change of seasons
Foo Fighters - eponymous
Metallica - Garage Inc
there wasnt a lot of music that really got me in the 90s. mainly listened to 80s and 70's metal. there are a ton of good bands out since 2000, but the 90s werent good for me.

Ditto on the Hum catalog and Failure's Fantastic Planet is my all time favorite album.
There were so many good ones already mentioned as well. Jerry Cantrells Boggy Depot was a great album too.
