Win the SEC overall, and we'll get a national seed.

That said, I'm more concerned with getting a national seed than the overall SEC title ... national seed for LSU = nice clear path to Omaha going through Alex Box.

Of course I'd like to see SC win more titles but if we only have 2 titles for the rest of our history having the last in Blatt and 1st at the new venue is a great feather in the cap.

That actually is pretty damn cool.

I am really jealous yall got the last one in Rosenblatt. It will always be the home of the CWS to me.

2 against state, 1 against auburn, 1 against arkansas. all those teams have losing records in conference. so half of ours are against average teams
Arkansas has a winning record in conference (11-10)*. And even not counting that one, LSU has four 1 run wins against "good" SEC teams. South Carolina has zero. The only three 1-run wins South Carolina has in SEC play this year came against Bama (6-15), Tennessee (7-14), and Mississippi State (10-11). We have five 1-run wins against teams better than any of those.

But since this is about whether South Carolina is playing "great" ball or not, I will point out that in this run of theirs against the bottom of the barrel of the SEC, they've also dropped games to unranked College of Charleston, Division II Francis Marion, and Tennessee.

Without a single win over a ranked team during this "streak", and losses like that, I really can't buy the idea that they are playing "great" ball. Solid, to be sure, and perhaps most importantly of all consistent in conference play. But I just don't see "great".

*ETA: Sorry, I didn't notice the date on your post. I'm assuming Arkansas did have a losing record in conference when you posted that. Mea culpa.

I'm sure LSU never drops games their supposed to win (cough App St.)
Yes, we do. And what the LSU fans (particularly on this board) were calling our level of play at that point was far, FAR from "great".

Very awesome gif. That is something really cool the Cocks will always have. At least we kept it in the SEC!

if i look at it objectively, i'd say LSU winds up 3rd overall, a game behind UK and USC....

LSU takes 2/3 from Ole Mess and Vandy, 1 of 3 from USC. That's 5-4. Finishes 19-11.

UK loses 2/3 to florida, sweeps Bama, wins 2 of 3 from MSU. That's 6-3. Finishes 20-10.

USC loses 2/3 at Ark, Wins 2/3 from UGA and LSU. That's 5-4. Finishes 19-11.

Good news is that LSU would have to collapse to not win the West. If LSU goes 5-4, Arkansas would have to go 9-0 to get the top West seed.

A series win this weekend would sure make things tough on the rest to catch us barring sweeps in our final two series.

In other news, why the F does everyone want to bow down to UF? They haven't done much to impress me since before we beat them at their place 2/3 (this is all relative, of course, as I know UF is a good team....some people just insist on ranking them above us)

People are starting to recognize just this week (thank God) that they aren't exactly the second coming to college baseball.

Eric Sorenson called florida just about "invincible" earlier this year. Yawn. I will say they seem to be getting their starting pitching in better shape. RPI #2 still sways a lot of people.

With that RPI, I still think it is a pipedream to think that they dont get a national seed.

Their OOC play has crystalized their RPI.

Yack.
