The Bee Gee's Robin Gibb is apparently very ill and in a coma.

Damn, he only has 2 years on me. Hope you get better or at least have a smooth trip, Robin.
This is the first Bee Gee's song I remember. (A precursor of "Timothy"?):
The New York Mining Disaster of 1941
Other's from my High School, pre-disco days:
I've Gotta Get A Message to You
To Love Somebody
Words
Holiday
Every Christian Lion Hearted man Will Show You

what's wrong with that family's genes?
quote:
Maurice Gibb, Robin's twin brother, died in 2003 at the age of 53 due to complications from a twisted intestine.
The Bee Gees' younger brother, Andy, who had a successful solo career, died in 1988 at age 30 of a heart ailment.

I thinks Andy's was drug related

Never was a big fan, even of their pre-disco period. "To Love Somebody" (allegedly written for Otis Redding -- Gram Parsons and The Flying Burrito Brothers do a magnificent version here) and "Holiday" were their best tracks.
Best wishes and get well soon to him

I do not know if anyone but you (maybe a couple others) would get the "Timothy" reference.

I have been saving "Timothy" for a Most Disgusting Top 40 Hit thread (along with Bloodrock's "DOA")

By far, my favorite Bee Gees song. Get well, Robin.

Aside from humane reasons I pray he lives to save us from a flood of these jokes

You mean like living forever?
He is a Bee Gee. That will be the joke when he dies. Deal with it.

Wow - didn't think anyone else remembered Blood Rock. The other obscure record I used to play all the time was by Aphrodite's Child - called 666 I believe. Was based on the bible, but extremely weird.
Most accessible song from the album: LINK

I guess 62 isn't that young, but dang, if he does that will make three of four to die before retirement age. Hope he pulls out of the coma.
