Is this hire about actually improving LSU basketball or appeasing a bunch of people that played 20 years ago?

Speaking of Clarence, the last time I saw him in the Alumni game he could barely make it up and down the court. I couldn't believe how much weight he had put on since his playing days.

Fine. But why hasn't he used this to get a HC job at any other major conf. program? How come year after year numerous schools fire/hire new coaches, yet the only time Jones is a "must have" candidate is when the LSU job is open?
