He and Brandon Taylor will play different positions in the NFL, so I don't know who you think will even compete with him for a first team all-rookie nod. This draft sucks butt for safeties.

How many rookie safeties will start? Will he be competing with himself for that tough all rookie slot?

I agree, it's like PP21 getting on the rookie 1st team at CB. Even average performers can get on there just because there's a lack of competition for the spot.

Note: I Said CB, not Returner.

It's amazing how we lose all objectivity when we are a fan of a team without even knowing it - suddenly everything connected with the team is better than what everyone else thinks.

I think you'll look back on this thread when you bump it and realize how skewed your perception is.

Correct, I remember when it came out that KC was taking Tyson Jackson at the 3 overall a couple years ago. I was surprised by most of the rant acknowledging the fact that no way he should go that high, no matter how big the need. He just wasn't top 10 talent.

Remember his game against Auburn in 2010? Guy got owned.

I guess having a torn pectoral and an hernia will do that. If he doesn't have a torn pectoral he has 2INTs.

When the Texans drafted Kareem Jackson, a lot of people that he was NFL because he had played in Sabans D.

That was shocking to 'Bama fans that Jackson was drafted in the first round. They could have gotten him 2nd round.

CBs and QBs are the hardest to draft. IMO.

The only thing you can say bad about Barron is that he is injury prone and has durability issues. Other than that, he is a great prospect.

Barron > Jackson..... frick, Menzie (who will go 2nd to 3rd round) > Jackson. IMO. Menzie was pretty legit this past year.

So you really think that NFL execs are the best decision makers and it would be impossible to over grade a guy? Hell, Laron Landry says hi. Craig "Buster" Davis says hi. Jamarcus friggin Russell says hi. This isn't a school thing, the guy just doesn't look that good. Roman Harper wasn't nearly as highly regarded at Barron is and I'd bet good money his NFL career doesn't come close to Harpers.

Thankfully someone threw up the bat signal and we have you bama intellectuals to straighten us out.

Even bama fans acknowledge that he's a liability in coverage and yet he's worth a first round pick in today's pass happy NFL?

It's a crap shoot, sometimes. You just basically say that Execs aren't the best decision makers, but yet you want to bet money on something bc you feel a certain way.

Kinda ironic.

2006's Safety class was really really strong by college standards. Considering Michael Huff, Donte Whitner, Roman Harper, Jason Allen, Daniel Bullocks, Danieal Manning.

But, we all don't know how players are going to turn out. Every once in awhile you'll know but not very often.

Wow, are you telling me these guys are not 100% right all the time? That's really amazing.

The pros would run circles around you and everyone else on these boards. Sure, they might miss on a guy some fan thought would be good or over rated a guy fans of the opposing college said was over rated, but then again a broke clock is right twice a day.

No shite. His point was that they are not infalliable and they have been wrong before, he wasnt saying they are always wrong or arent good at what they do just that we can have an objecting opinion on how they rate a player

Those are 2 different questions and they are are not mutually exclusive.

Yes they are the best decision makers and yes they can over rate guys.

Remember also, there are 32 of them, so the fact that 1 grossly over rates some one doesn't mean the 31 do as well.
