Idiot? Nah bro....

If Mett blows up I bump this page. He's a talented QB stepping into a offense with tons of returning talent. It's not far fetched to think he could have a monster year.

I'm heading to work...this idiot has to go worry bout NK rocket launch....

I hope you're right. I just think we need to be a little more patient to see how he progresses. We can run the ball and still go 13-0. And while he adds the new dynamic we've been missing, I don't want to set standards for this guy that are unrealistic.

I doubt this, because the media is SO-O-O-O-O far up Barkely's arse now, they will be redefining Barkely's performance all season to make sure they don't look like idiots if he's off.

And honestly, Mett doesn't need to be in the same conversation as a top guy; he just doesn't need to be in the group of "total bust". Lower your expectations because you can.

Did I miss something? Is Miles no longer the coach?

Mett won't have the opportunity to put up the numbers everyone is projecting. With the horses in the backfield and an inexperienced QB, Miles will be a running machine. BOOK IT!!!

Which is really not a bad thing.

How do u know? He hasn't started a single game. It makes it LIKELY that many others are better, but no way of knowing for sure.

Sorry to burst ur bubble, but aj mccaron and geno smith are already being touted as the top 2qbs behind barkley by espn. Murray isnt far behind. Its going to take a lot for mett. Hes gonna have to have a better season than jmarc did in 06. and hes gonna have to do it earlier in the season. I just dont see it happening with our running game.

With the backfield tandem of Ware and Hillard, not to mention Blue and Hill, Miles will run and run and run and run. Not saying Mett won't have opportunities, because he will probably have some deep throw opportunities. But he won't be the main offensive threat on this team. So to compare him to Barkley, or even Wilson or Bray, who all have significant experience and WILL be the offensive threats of their respective teams, are bad comparisons.

Mett will be a game manager. Similar to McCarron his first year.

Which is the right thing to do. No need for Mett to throw it all over the field when you have those horses in the backfield and one of the nations' best defenses.

Just because I would want him over Jordan Jefferson doesn't mean He is a top 2-3 QB, just a top 50

No.com brah

Matt Barkley is a better QB than JC ever was, fact. He made a good move staying one more year, now he will be the top dawg drafted and will win some games in the NFL.

Clausen blows monkey nuts

Too bad he did not get more playing time last year when we needed a long ball thrower.

Exactly, this is more ridiculous than espn already touting aj as a top 3 qb.

I dont care who we have at RB or as a coach, I just want to see the kid play a down of SEC football before crowning him the next Luck.

Not likely but it's always nice to dream. All we need is for Mett to adequate (1500 yards should suffice) and we should be fine.

[quote]And why does everyone still not respect Geno Smith as one of the top 2 or 3 QB's next year. He chopped our a$$ up last year.[/quote

The score and playing , keep everything on front of you, had more to do with his passing stats than him shredding us. Plus he threw the ball almost 70 times and started most of his drives inside his 10 yard line. He did play well though.

Exactly. Every qb plays in a damn system. There are some systems that fit certain qb's better. Like Tebow and the spread.

It will be interesting to see how he compares with Murray, who does have more SEC experience, but they had a heated battle for the QB job in that spring at Georgia before Mett departed.

Maybe some think Mett will be a game manager. This is possible, but Miles himself seemed to indicate LSU would pass more & threw more deep passes than last season.

The main thing is there seems little doubt that he'll be a better passer than either Lee or JJ.
