I hope you're right. I just think we need to be a little more patient to see how he progresses. We can run the ball and still go 13-0. And while he adds the new dynamic we've been missing, I don't want to set standards for this guy that are unrealistic.

Aww good!

The main thing is there seems little doubt that he'll be a better passer than either Lee or JJ.

Mett won't have the opportunity to put up the numbers everyone is projecting. With the horses in the backfield and an inexperienced QB, Miles will be a running machine. BOOK IT!!!

2006 suggest otherwise, we've ran the ball because we haven't had anything behind center with a cannon since Jamarcus

Not likely but it's always nice to dream. All we need is for Mett to adequate (1500 yards should suffice) and we should be fine.

You see him only passing for 1,500 yards?

I can see him passing for more but I'm saying he really doesn't have to do much between the 4 workhorses he's got behind him and our NFL caliber defense

I honestly think Mett can be a top 10 QB this year and top 5 his senior year. IMO he has all that you want at the QB position..

He's pretty intelligent, seems to have a calm and cool demeanor, he's got the arm and ideal height.. Will he step up and be the leader of this team like a Matt Flynn?! We don't know that yet but I would bet everybody on that team and coaching staff believes in Mettenberger.

I know it's the right thing to do by having conservative expectations but ZM is the real deal.

That plane is in Dallas to pick up Lamar Odom. He is the new coach. You heard it here first. :jump1: :jump2:

In '06 Jamarcus was a junior with a lot more experience than Mett. Also, Jamarcus really only had Hester, Williams and Broussard. That running back group is nowhere near the talent level of what we have now.

Come on people. He might pan out extremely well and I hope he does. But he has yet to throw a pass in anything but a juco game and the spring game. Miles let him loose in a "practice game" to appease the fans. Come back to earth. What makes you think Miles is going to open things up, especially given the loss of the go to receiver? Mett won't even match Matt Barkley's true freshman numbers.
