Some of yall smokin too much of the drugs, Beckwith is a tremendous big athlete that will be an impact player in the SEC. He may not start his first year due to the position transition but he's gonna be a stud once he adapts.

Thanks for kicking it off blue dog but it's too early. Please wait untill at least august before we start predicting how horrible this class is because all the 5* went somewhere else. Other then that good portrayal of a august through signing day tiger fan.

I like Beckwith, as a DE. He's not a LB at LSU. How many of you want a a LB that runs a 4.8? We have DTs that can run that. I want him because the coaches want him and because he's from LA but I will not give it second thought if he chooses Bama or anyone else. I just think he fits better at Bama even moreso than Devall. He's under 6''2 230 and runs 4.7 on his best day. Good enough at DE with his short area skills but ideal for a 3-4 LB. Devall is a better LB prospect and has better size for DE though not by much. I also think that if he waits until an all star game his choices are going to be less than they are now. I doubt Bama has room at that point for another LB and wouldn't be suprised if we didn't. We'd probably take him at that point but that doesn't mean we will not have filled his spot as it stands currently by then. Basically that means that LSU might not look as good to him depth wise as it does now.
Just for info's sake Devall was not recruited as a Jack. His projected position most of the cycle was inside but he's likely to be one of the guys they crosstrain at 2-3 LB spots with Jack being the most unlikely one. The pitch to him was purely as a LB with no exact spot taking precedence. Just a promise to compete.

KB is a good athlete and this year will determine his direction. If you look at his offer list teams are not exactly beating his door down. That tells me there is not enought good info on him out there. Also he plays in Class 2A I think which limits his quality opponents which will make it tough to evaluate him.
What I would be concerned with is grades. I dont know anything about him but his little rural school is an academic desert. East Feliciana had to lower the gpa requirement to a 1.5 to play sports last year. That does not mean anything about him personally but I doubt he is getting a college prep foundation.

I prefer melvin Jones Jr.over any LB in the class...its just the coaches wonder if he will grow out of the position

I agree. Though I think Claiborne is a better pure LB, Jones is the better athlete and more versatile. My fix to the problem is to take them both and Beckwith. The more ther merrier(is that right?). I actually prefer Jones to Beckwith at any position.

I agree with you. Jones is very athletic for his size. Just not sure if he outgrows MLB size but I think he is a take.

Why would you think this? LM has already promised KB that he'll be the only LB taken in this year's class. KB told LM that he will wait till somewhere close to signing day before announcing and from what I read, LM said he will wait it out. So it is a good possibility we take no LB's unless LM decides to offer D.Claiborne at the last minute.

Rumors floating around up there that he wants to go to LSU now. This was told to me by a kid that goes to Bastrop. I have no clue how or why he would get out of his LOI. I think the kid dosent know what hes talking about but you never know. I know there was a poster on here close to Devall. Any truth to this?

Still in VA. Sandston, right down the street from the Richmond airport. What part of Va Beach were you in? I've got some friends in that area I go watch hs games with.
