pretty good blog post. The good ole boy BOS vs. Joe A. This is what it comes down to. Joe A is touted as a Duke Boy and needs to get a top flight BB coach.

...I don't know who wrote it.

I don't care who wrote it.

It's right on the money.

Every LSU basketball fan needs to read it.

It is time for LSU to rise above the good ole boy network and do the right thing.

I can't really disagree with much of what was said there. If Jones had no affiliation with LSU people would flip the frick out over even mentioning his name. I don't think he'd be a disaster or anything, but I think we should at least make some bigger names tell us no before even calling Jones.

Wow. Absolutely spot on and could not have said it better myself if I had written the article. That is as pointed and correct as it could be.

Not real sure with the exception of Dale how many non-aa folks CT jr does support unless they are kissing his rear, and even then ...........

I have felt the same way for a while. CT2 needs to shut his fricking mouth and let LSU hire who they want. If he is ALL LSU like he says, he will support no matter what. But he has this huge ego that he is the sole reason why in state recruits go to LSU. We need a coach that will come in and not give a damn about CT2's agenda.

McKay may have some other issues, but this is a great article.

Johnny Jones would just be awful.

Exceptionally good article by McKay. His account of the internal political dysfunction at LSU that scuttled the football coaching searches in the 1980's and 1990's is particularly insightful. If LSU returns to its old parochial ways, the long term success of the AD will be jeopardized. LSU must continue to mimic the efficient professionalism of peer institutions like the University of Texas and the University of Florida, hiring coaches and administators on the basis of pedigree and merit, not on the basis of the Bourbon tinged recommendations of backwoods T-Baptiste's who happened to go to high school together (or in this case, a bunch of greasy-palmed street hustlers).
