According to a tiger rag article by Ben Love, Trent recommended Jones to Alleva. Talked about how him and Jones are good friends. If Trent is recommending him then I say HELL NO. Also the article says Trent is gonna make $2.3million

If Trent is recommending jones, I'd go the opposite direction.

Tim Floyd

His name comes up EVERY time the job is open dating back to Dale Brown's retirement. I may not keep up with BB coaching like FB, but I know this guy has a very questionable past to say the least. LSU needs to hire someone who can win, yes, but not a time bomb, imho.

How come everyone is overlooking this? He WAS the reason we got put on probation.

TCU has that kind of money and they're throwing it at TJ? wow. And more importantly:

The reason we got on probation was because Dale called the NCAA the gestapo and then the NCAA pressured Lester Earl into lying so they could have some dirt on us.

Baylor is a better basketball job than LSU. There are more D-1 prospects in Texas than in Louisiana. Baylor has the ability to attract more out-of-state prospects than LSU in basketball.

Why would Drew want to leave a good situation just to turn the LSU program around? How many bulls must he slay?

We will just help him get a pay raise. Don't waste valuable time.
We can still salvage a recruiting season.

Can't players who have signed LOI back out especially if the coach leaves? So Austin could follow Drew if he wanted.

Yeah, where are their 3 of the NBA Altime Top 50 players like LSU? Their 1948 Runner-Up to Ky rates over LSU's National Title? Their two ancient Final Fours rate over LSU's three in the last 32 years? etc..

True, but LSU has a more fun campus, social life, facilities, than does Baylor. And now LSU is loaded with Texas kids..thus not as homesick for many that choose to leave Tejas.

Yeah, WACO >> BR when it comes to recruiting inner-city urban youth, or as a fun college town. They're not going there to become Doctors.

Wake up.

Yeah saw that. Seems like the athletic department asking him to say that to soften our resolve against the hire.

Why would anyone care what TJ has to say though.

Saying only one person can turn it around is stupid but you are right. It's looking like JJ will be named the coach very soon.

I'm just trying to analyze why he would say that unless it was already in motion and TJ was asked to make a comment.

Then the AD is out of touch with the pulse of the fanbase because there aren't too many TJ supporters. Why in the hell do I care what TJ's opinion is? He couldn't get it done so how in the hell would he know who the person to get it done would be.
