it is sooooooo true and u know it.
Besides many of the posters are assuming that he will come in and cheat right off the bat, that is in the most unlikely of scenarios, that he will get hired that is. A Big what if, that he is Hired, stays clean and does everything above board invites the NCAA to monitor him and turns this piss poor BB program around and gets us to at least the sweet 16 or even elite 8. IMHO there is no great BB coach out there on the market that would EVERcome to LSU. Get Pearl offer him the chance at redemption and get our BB team out of the crapper.

I agree.
People are making wayyyy too big of a deal about him not being able to recruit. It's dumb.
Assistants can still recruit. Kids can still sign with us. It's not as if we'd be fielding a team of walk-ons for three years.
He'd sell the shite out of the program, connect with the fan base, and fill up the arena. We'd be good, too.
I'm 100% on board with it.

Alleva has to be willing to take a huge risk. If he hires a guy like Floyd and he doesn't pan out its one thing. If he hires Pearl and he fricks up like at Tennessee they both get fired

Don't get me wrong, I'd ask Drew and Floyd first. Absolutely. And if Drew doesn't take it, I bet Floyd almost definitely would. So, if I were in charge, it would never come down to Pearl.
However, if he does end up being the guy we hire, I'm just stating that I would be on board.

Elleshoe, I believe that Pearl Needs this more than LSU needs him, and we need a quality coach in a bad way, and I mean worse than Stalin needs an ice cube in hell. No matter where, when or how Pearl is ever hired, he will have NCAA up his backside looking at his guts close up and personal. It is worth the risk, Pearl fails, and LSU comes out looking like the good guys who offered a chance at redemption to someone who made a mistake(s).

You can't be serious with this? I'm pretty sure Bruce Pearl was a Div II championship, Elite 8 NCAA, 5-6 Sweet 16s (not looking it up).
Also, it wasn't his cheating that was really bad at all - having a recruit at a cook-out (NCAA rules are fricking stupid). His straight up lying to the NCAA got him show cause.
That said, I doubt seriously Bruce Pearl can be discussed with any legitimacy. There would be so many NCAA hoops to jump through, open yourself up to sanctions and then have him being unable to recruit for 2 years.
If it wasn't for ALL OF THAT, Bruce Pearl would be a great hire. Then again, if it wasn't for ALL OF THAT, he'd still be at Tennessee.

It's a moot point. Pearl will not get back into coaching until his penalty ends. I listen to his radio show and he has said it. He has already turned down pro positions, etc. He's just going to wait it out.
Also, you need to understand the severity of the sanction. LSU would never allow Alleva to hire him, even if he wanted to -- which he doesn't.

he made a sweet 16 at milwaukee, 2 at UT, 1 elite 8 in 10 years of Div1 coaching....so ok better than I thought, worse than you thought
