Wiig is very funny, the skits they wrote for her are what blew.

Kristen Wiig gets my vote for most overrated SNL cast member ever.

She is not funny.

I think I laughed once, maybe twice, when I watched her movie Bridesmaids, a film that she wrote.

That is the most overrated comedic film of the last 10 years.

Sudeikis, Bill Hader, Samberg, and the other two lonely island dudes should have their own skit show. It would blow SNL out of the water.

If that's true..I don't care. I liked it, but I'm a big fan of almost all the Apatow type comedies.

I'm generally the first to say women aren't funny, but I thought Bridesmaids put together a good cast of chicks...Wiig, Wendy McLendon-Covey, Melissa (what's her last name), the girl from the office.

Melissa McCarthy I believe. I'll retract my earlier statement saying Wiig isn't funny, and simply say she isn't funny in anything I've seen her in (SNL, Paul).

No kidding...The guy from Mad Men was the funniest part in the movie.

It will be a huge blow to the show," one source said. "Without Andy's video shorts and Kristen saving every skit, they'll need help."

They've gone through plenty of cast changes. What makes this person think it'll be any different? And Wiig saving every skit? She has some good ones, but others she will run one stupid joke into the ground. Digital Shorts are the same as Jack Handey or TV Funhouse bits. Something new will come along and SNL will be fine.

I will miss Sudeikis, but I'll get over it.

+1 except the non-Keenan black guy is really good as well.

Everyone else sucks donkey balls.

So what show is further past its expiration date: Saturday Night Live or The Simpsons?

toss-up, honestly... but I think the simpsons is just simply "not funny" whereas SNL is offensively terrible

btw, the other black guy is jay pharoah

When someone leaves, then someone else steps up.

It'll be fun to see who takes advantage of the vacuum.

Ditto x infinity.

I cannot stand most Wiig skits. I think the last time I laughed at one of her characters was the Lawrence Welk show and she had the baby hands. It was fresh then, and now, it's all the same.

I really like Sudeikis, so he'll be missed. Sandberg is good for most Digital Shorts, but it limited to mostly that.

I think this is an opportunity for SNL to clean house with some of the garbage they have now and get some real talent in there. Keep Bill Hader, Abby Elliot, Jay Pharoah, Nasim Pedrad, Bobby Moynahan, and maybe Taran Killam. Ditch the rest.

Also, boot Seth Myers not just from the Weekend Update desk, but as a writer. I think he's one of the key guys holding the show down with uncreative crap week in and week out.

Damn, I forgot about Hader, he's always been good. And Jay Pharoah's impersonations are incredible.

Hader is terrific in most skits. Many skits would be complete bombs if he didn't go all in on them and make them at least tolerable.

So far, Pharoah has been great in his impersonations. I just have to wonder if they are limiting him or if he's just a one trick pony.

I agree with most of this. I'm not that big of a Sudeikis fan, though. I think he's just OK. Funny at times, but not great. I don't think he'll do well as a movie star. Just doesn't seem like he can carry one.

I really dislike Kristen Wiig and her brand of comedy. She's just really annoying all the time to me. Glad she's gone.

Sudeikis is a classic "wing-man" type of character.

I think the comparison made earlier in this thread to Vince Vaughn is spot on- he has a different type of delivery but has a similar on-screen presence.
