I have a Tundra with a 6' bed. Will a 12' yak be a huge hassle transport?

DieselTiger has a removeable ladder rack he uses. But I put a 10' pirogue in my truck bed without problem. Straps and rope will keep anything back there.

nope, I have a Tacoma with a 6' bed and no issues with 12' kayaks.

14 footers though, you really need to strap down. I bought a bed extender for when I buy the Cuda.

ok thanks for the responses. I've been looking at getting one since last summer and I decided to go with the Wilderness Systems Tarpon 120. Can not wait to get it out on the water.

I use my rack when Im making a trip with a lot of gear and need the bed of my truck. if its just a quick trip, the 12footer fits in my shortbed truck just fine. even with my tool box in the back.

I don't understand all the love for sit-in ascend kayaks. I feel like they are cheap and the people who brag on them so much have never fished out of a sit-on-top. Having done both I feel the SOT is 10x better for fishing than the SI. But if the reason for so many going with the ascend is cost then I can understand, as long as you find a way to get on the water with in your means, more power to you

I think you are taking our satisfaction with our purchase as "bragging." I have fished out of several SOT and I'm still very happy with my ascend sit in. my next yak will be a diablo but right now I cant justify spending 1600 on a unrigged yak when my ascend catches plenty of fish and only cost me 400.

as far as bang for your buck, ascend is a great deal.

and as far as I know "all the love" is just B&B and myself saying we have them and are happy with them.

yes, I was planning on buying it this month, but then I had to drop a lot of money on house issues and new truck tires, so my Cuda will have to wait a few more months

I'd have a sick surface drive rig, 24' bay boat, 20' bass boat, and some huge arse offshore boat and a camp to house them all.
