don't blame him, but this stings

I think we're a 20+ win team next year with him

Yes he did cause he won 5 more conference games than last year, won a conference tournament game, and took Kentucky to the wire.

Try 6.

Morgan already has one, so there are now 5 open scholarships, assuming no additional attrition. (which could be a big IF).

I hate to see him go, but I don't blame Hamilton for leaving. This would have been his 5th year in college. He will get his degree and he likely wouldn't have improved his draft stock much more. Best of luck to him.

HOWEVER, it is unexcusable to seemingly go every year with fricking empty chairs. right now LSU has 5 open scholarships with only one guy signed. I know that there may be a few potential guys on the horizon, but if that doesn't pan out, then what? LSU holds their scholarships again and we try to sign a 9 person class next year?

Post Brady this program didn't need rebuilding, just improving, in order to be a consistent winner. It's almost like the coaching staff felt they needed to completely demolish everything to start from the ground up. And after a year of what seemed to be a little bit of progress, at least at this point, it doesn't seem like they are going to build upon it with next year's team

my interest heading into last season was probably an all time low and will be even lower this season now.

Agreed, I've become apathetic as well. Sad stuff.

Trent should have hired Randy but alas, NOPE. I'd love to sit down with CT2, Dale Brown, Randy Livingston, and Joe Alleva and hear what they think about this program

Johnny Jones really should probably be a front runner for our head coach vacancy after this season.

I agree. Brady's problem wasn't neccesarily attrition, but lack of preparation for it with suitable replacements. Trent is having that same problem.

Hamilton leaving isn't the issue. I think most people can look at his situation -- graduating, getting married, etc. -- and understand where he is coming from. The problem lies in that there is no replacement in the fold, nor does there appear to be one on the horizon.

Trent can't run this program. He needs to be fired.

I would like to know what Trent told him. Cant imagine any other coach letting him leave. His stock could only go up.

Good coaches can talk players out of leaving specially when they will not get drafted.
