Yeah. His last couple of recruiting classes will carry him to 10 easy. Even with a talent drop off and a few bad seasons he would be to 13.

LA will have a good recruiting year in 2014. If he locks up the in staters and gets a couple national recruits, he'll have the cupboard stocked enough to get to 15.

Winning a national title next year would basically guarantee that he not get fired before year 15.

Ya'll need to put down the crack pipe and face reality. Leslie is not a great coach. He's at an amazing school with unlimited resources. He doesn't have to recruit, LSU recruits itself. Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night in front of 92,000+ speaks for itself. You don't need Leslie to tell a recruit to come to LSU once you experience that. Leslie rode Saban's coattail his first couple of years, and now he'll NEVER win a National Championship without Saban's players. Book it!

I wonder how sad this poor guy's life has to be that making an empty boast on an anonymous message board where he faces zero consequences for being stupid as a box of hammers actually makes him feel better about himself?

I have to wonder how close an existence like that is to gargling with buckshot. Can't be far from it.

I think he coaches until he breaks Mac's all time win record, which should be sometime in his 14th or 15th season (theoretically, during his 13th season)

I think he'd like to, and will, break Charlie Mac's record. He's averaged 10.7 wins/yr over his seven years at LSU. (I know he won a bunch with "Saban's players", but humor me.) He needs 63 wins to get to 138. Three 10 win and three 11 win seasons over the next six years will do it!

I don't think he retires until after he becomes LSU's winningest (? is that a word?) coach.

I agree with the first part... not a great coach, but not a bad one either. However, I actually think our program is so good right now that we could win another championship with a mediocre coach. Regardless, he will be here for 15 if he chooses... what coach would come here if we fired a guy that took us to 2 championships..

re: True or False: Les Miles will reach 15 years at LSU

He has done very well by LSU so far.

LSU has a great program and in time the stadium will be expanded and improved leading to more revenue, more happier fans, and better recruits.

Les is also very active in the local community and is, unlike some high profile college coaches, a friendly person who reflects the culture and style of LSU very well.

He's safe for at least another 3 years provided LSU is competitive. Another title within 5 years and I think he can stay in Baton Rouge as long as he wants.

I don't think 15 years is out of the realm of possibility at all.

I hope he stays for a very long time.

We wouldn't be the first program to become arrogant enough to actually believe this. Look at the carnage all across Florida for examples A through C.

For those that claim Les isn't a great coach.... take a look at the other 119 D1 schools and name 10 Head Coaches you'd rather have.

I got Miles in my Top 10 as a Head Coach.

So, I'm guessing Saban winning 8 and 10 games in his first two years at LSU with DiNardo's recruits is okay? Miles won 22 in his first two years. Why did Saban go 9-4 - with SABAN'S players - after winning the NC the year before!?! Why didn't LSU just recruit and coach itself that year? Miles managed to win 11 games the next year (2005), which by any measurement, was a F'd up time in south LA. I don't give a shite who's players he was using. First year coach, trying to replace God Saban, Katrina, then Rita, the schedule being shuffled around... Les did better than most would have.

I'll admit that sometimes Les's gameday decision making and cryptic presser comments have caused me to scratch my head, but the guy wins! For the most part, fans, players and player's parents love the guy. I'll take his occasional brain farts as long as he averages 10 or 11 wins per year.

Anyone wanting different quite frankly doesn't want what is best for the program. The LSU coaching tree has been very stump like. Our inability in recent years to find coaches with LSU ties is evidence of this. The Miles coaching tree has some blossoming flowers already with some nice buds on the vine. The health of the Miles tree could go a long ways to keeping LSU Football elite.

Might as well toss Texas and USCw in that group as well. What was Mack Brown doing the last few years on autopilot? Lot of Michigan supporters probably thought their program would never decline, either.

Agree 100%. It seems the assumption is being made that there are no good coaches after Saban (besides Urban Meyer, maybe a few others). Just because a coach is not as good as Saban doesn't mean they are just good enough. Maybe I'm inferring too much from what I said previously, but Les is a great coach and I would venture to say a top 5 coach. His stubbornness is a blessing and a curse but the blessing of that trait outweighs the curse imo.

To answer the OP question, Yes I think he stays 15 years. He'll leave on his own terms and it won't be to Michigan.
