*Bonus points if the video features hot actresses before they hit it big.

a-ha is more popular than you think:

From Wikipedia:
The band have sold over 36 million albums and 15 million singles worldwide.[9] In less than a year, during 2010, the band earned an estimated 500 million Norwegian Kroner on touring tickets, merchandising and release of a greatest hits album, making them one of the 40-50 largest grossing bands in the world.[10]

I always liked this song, but have always hated the general term "one hit wonder" They may be somebody else's favorite band, but I only know this one...

Harvey Danger - Flagpole SItta

yeah, I hate when Crowded House is referred to is a one hit wonder... They are one of the best pop bands of the past 30 years, but being from NZ, got very little play over here...

If I recall they had a string of "hits", or at least songs for which videos were made and broadcast 78 times per day on MTV back when MTV played videos.

did they? I guess so, but when I play them the only one people ever seem to know is "Don't Dream it's Over"

I guess my point is, MTV totally fricked up the perception of 80s music, for the most part. I guess I should have just said that then.

"Better Be Home Soon" and "Something so Strong" were good tunes.

I think most people in the states dont really take into account how popular a band is in another country. That's what I said A-HA because what they did over seas means nothing to me... Maybe it's just the snobish american thinking.

Otherwise I would have to listen to

German ICON ( maybe a bit over stated however)
